With a Jewish actor for a grandfather and a musician for a mother, Lana’s involvement in the music business was perhaps inevitable.
While music was always a significant part of her life, her passion for the art fully blossomed while studying at the Academy of Music.
After the tragic loss of her husband in 1990, she immigrated to Israel in 1993 with her 2-year-old daughter.
Upon her arrival, she began working as a singer and conductor for small vocal groups.
Not only did she work as a music teacher, but she also continued to create music on her own.
She later moved to New York for three years, releasing a follow-up CD entitled “Jewish Love Songs,”
based on Hebrew poetry, recorded in NYC with musicians from the jazz and world music scenes.
Since 2016, she has been working in Israel on a brand-new festival called Sunflower for Creative Women.
For this festival, featuring a jazz trio and a chamber quartet, they created her newest album of original songs and the program "Impressions" (2019).
During the Covid pandemic, she wrote and released a musical poem in Spanish with a chamber trio titled "Noches."
The lyrics were written by her husband, Fausto Abad, 35 years ago.
